What Happens During Your Same-Day Crown Visit?
Examining and Shaping the Tooth
We’ll begin by examining the tooth in question. If decay is present, we’ll remove the affected areas and clean the tooth thoroughly. For teeth with stress fractures, a crown helps prevent the fracture from spreading further. From there, we’ll gently shape the tooth so your new crown fits comfortably and securely on top.
Creating Your Crown In-House
With your tooth prepared, we use a digital 3D scanner to capture a precise image, no messy impressions or trays involved. That scan is used to design a custom digital model of your crown, which is then milled right in our office using our in-house equipment while you wait.
Fitting and Finishing
Once your crown is ready, it’s bonded or cemented in place the same day, with no temporary crown or follow-up visit needed. Your dentist will check the fit, make any small adjustments and confirm it feels comfortable. After a final polish, you’re ready to head out with your new crown in place.
